Our specific expertise is the competent selection of the optimization method which best suits your aims and purposes as well as your scheduling.

Non-parametric Optimization

The method of non-parametric optimization is one of the most efficient strategies in virtual product development since it yields excellent results in a short period of time. A particular advantage for you as our customer is our detailed knowledge about the in-house-developed software solutions TOSCA Structure and TOSCA Fluid.

  • Topology optimization of components (e.g. casting components, channel flow components)
  • Shape optimization
  • Bead optimization of sheet metal parts

A strong exchange between our development department and the engineering team allows a project driven software development. New software features may be offered for customer service projects before they get part of the standard software functionality.

Parametric optimization

In some cases, the most efficient solution of an optimization task can be found by a parametric approach. Typical application examples are the sizing optimization (wall thickness optimization) and the parameter identification (comparison of simulation and experimental data). For the optimization of 3D geometric parts either CAD parameters or FE-based morphing strategies can be used.

FE-DESIGN's engineering team applies various software solutions in the fields of parametric-based optimization, process automation, data analysis and metamodelling - depending on the particular optimization task.
